Tips for playing Inverell Golf Course​
1st Hole
Requires a straight tee shot. Your approach shot is to an elevated green with a false front. There is Out of Bounds down the left hand side of the fairway, and behind the green.

2nd Hole
Dogleg to the left. Longer hitters can cut the corner but require a precise tee shot, as you do not want to miss the fairway left. The safe shot is to the middle of the fairway, leaving a mid iron to the green, which is guarded by bunkers on both left and right.

3rd Hole
Tee shot needs to be right of centre, to avoid Inverell's iconic 'snakepit'. All the trouble on this hole is down the lefthand side. The green is reachable in 2 for the longer hitters, but the safer option is to lay up. The green is 2 tiered and slopes from back to front. A precise 3rd shot is required, as it can be an easy 3 putt if you are on the wrong tier.

4th Hole
The first of Inverell's Par 3's. Your tee shot is to an elevated green, which is guarded by bunkers left and right. Don't be short, as you will be left with a difficult chip shot up the hill - but be wary of being long.

5th Hole
With a straight tee shot across the ravine, you will have a simple approach shot to a green guarded by bunkers left and right.

A precise tee shot is required, as the green is guarded by bunkers left and right. There is Out of Bounds left, right and long.

Inverell's hardest hole. You require 2 good shots to reach the green. Out of Bounds down the ride hand side of the entire hole. Don't be long or left with your approach shot, as this will make is very difficult to get up and down.

Hole 8
With a straight tee shot to an elevated fairway, you will have a short shot to a tricky right to left sloping green, which is guarded by 2 bunkers on the right hand side. Ideal tee shot is left of centre. Trouble long.

Hole 9
Inverell's strongest Par 3, measuring just over 200 metres. It requires a straight shot to a large green, which has trouble left and long.

Hole 10
Inverell's longest Par 5 is reachable in 2 shots for the longer hitters, but requires 2 precise shots. Tee shot is best down the left hand side, to make for an easier 2nd shot, which should be placed down the right hand side, which will open up the green. Out of Bounds down the right hand side and trouble long.

Hole 11
Dogleg to the right. Long hitters can cut the corner to leave a simple pitch shot into the green. Don't be long, as this will leave a daunting chip back up to the green, and it will be almost an impossible up and down.

Hole 12
One of Inverell's most difficult Par 3's. A precise tee shot is required to an elevated green. Your tee shot must clear the trees on the left hand side, to avoid ending up in the creek. Out of Bounds on the right hand side.

Hole 13
Dogleg to the right. You want to land your tee shot in the generous fairway to avoid tree trouble on both the right and left sides. Longer hitters can take on the trees and cut the corner, but it will require a good tee shot. Your approach shot will be into a large green that you do not want to miss long.

Hole 14
Another precise tee shot required, as the creek runs through the fairway and you can be blocked by the iconic tree at the end of the fairway. The safe play is to lay up on top of the hill to allow a clear shot into a wide, shallow green. The creek runs down the right hand side of the green, and there is trouble left and long.

Hole 15
Inverell's signature Par 5, with spectacular views from the championship tee. A straight shot from an elevated tee is required, for any chance of reaching the green in 2 shots. The green is protected by 2 bunkers and there is Out of Bounds long.

Hole 16
A trick Par 4 that has bought many a good round undone. Tee shot is best down the right hand side, to open up the green for your approach shot. You want to avoid the dam on the left hand side, and the longer hitters can find themselves in the creek at the end of the fairway. You want to avoid the trees on the left hand side guarding the green with your approach shot. Out of Bounds long.

Hole 17
A precise tee shot onto a generous green is required. There is a dam protecting the left hand side of the green, and a bunker guarding the front. A long tee shot will make for a difficult up and down.

Hole 18
Are we there yet? A straightforward shot over the dam onto an ample fairway. Longer hitters will expect to reach the elevated section of the fairway. You must avoid Out of Bounds and a gully hazard that runs down the right hand side of the hole. An accurate approach shot is required into a green that is guarded by 2 bunkers. Out of Bounds directly behind the green.
